JOVICA ILIEVSKI

VIOLA

Jovica was born in 1975 in Skopje. He started his music education when he was five and a half years old. He completed his secondary music education in 1993 at the SMBC Ilija Nikolovski Luj in Skopje in the class of Prof. Ljupcho Sokolov. He graduated in 1998 from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Ljubomir Gospodinov. During his university studies he worked as part-time collaborator of the Macedonian Philharmonic and the Macedonian Opera. In 1999 he became a permanent member as a tutti violist of the Macedonian Philharmonic. Jovica was also a member of many world orchestras in Germany, Italy, Greece, and was a representative of the Macedonian Philharmonic in the Olympic Games Orchestra in Athens. He was also a member of many chamber ensembles in the country and abroad, amongst which is the Chamber Orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic. Jovica was a member of many string quartets and a founder of one.
Besides classical music, he has a keen interest in jazz, inspiring him to arrange a few jazz standards for string quartet.
