DEJAN TEODOSIEVSKI

ASSOCIATE LEADER OF CELLOS

Dejan completed his primary and secondary education at the SMBC Ilija Nikolovski Luj in Skopje, in the class of Prof. Dimche Stojanovski. He was admitted at the Faculty of Music in Skopje in 1992 as a student of Dushka Tasevska, where he also graduated in 1997. During his studies, he attended a few seminars with Mikhail Homizer and Koril Rodin, as well as private lessons with Istvan Varga and Anatoli Krastev. He was also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia, performing regularly at home and abroad.

He started collaborating with the Macedonian Philharmonic as a part-time member of the orchestra in 1995. In 1999 he was accepted as a permanent member and was appointed Associate Leader of the cello group in 2019. During his career, Dejan has performed as a chamber musician with numerous concerts throughout the country and abroad. He is the founder of the string quartet Viva Strings and is a member of the ethno-ensemble String Forces. He is also a member of the film music orchestra F.A.M.E.’s since its founding. Dejan plays on a cello made by Orce Iloski in 2019.

“I love spending time with my family, especially with my daughters Matea and Kalina, but I also enjoy watching my favourite sportsmen on TV, Ronnie O'Sullivan (snooker) and Novak Djokovic (tennis). Besides the cello, I also work as a music producer, composing and arranging music for my quartet, as well as other ensembles.”
