Dino Imeri Biography (updated-2022) Dino Imeri (1990) is a renowned Macedonian pianist. “The magician of the piano” (Magazine, OPS) - as the French press has refered to him – has performed solo recitals, chamber music concerts, as well as performances with well-known orchestras with great success throughout the world, capturing audiences with his creations and interpretations. He has performed in Austria (Schloss “Esterhazy” Emperor Hall, Liszt Zentrum, J. Haydn Kons), Italy (Rome, Bari), France (Piano Plage Festival, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg), Croatia (Zagreb: “Vatroslav Lisinski”, Državni arhiv, Muzej Umjetnosti i Obrt, Dubrovnik: Epidaurus Festival), Serbia (Belgrade: Cultural Center, ARTGET Gallery), Novi Sad), Bulgaria (being a guest five times in three consecutive seasons of the great Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as performing a recital of Macedonian contemporary music in the “Music of Europe” concert series), Slovenia (Ljubljana Festival) etc. The critics describe his playing in superlatives: „Dino Imeri is not merely performing the music, it is almost as if he is composing it in the very moment. Incredible and refined quality of sound, effortless technique, instrumental culture and a fascinating freedom containing an incredible improvisational quality in his interpretation – this is a brief description of his great artistry.” (E. Docheva, Kultura.bg) He has collaborated with Strasbourg Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic, Macedonian Philharmonic, FMU Symphonic and Chamber Orchestra, Macedonian National Opera & Ballet. He has collaborated with eminent artists among which conductors Josep Vicent, Nayden Todorov, Emil Tabakov, Sasha Nikolovski-Gjumar, Dijana Imeri Ilkoska, Borjan Canev, Sasho Tatarchevski, Kire Kostov, Le Fi Fi, Bisera Chadlovska; singers Igor & Ana Durlovski, Blagoj Nacoski, Libushe Santorisova, Alexey Shapovalov, Luigi Schifano as well as instrumentalists Bojan Ilkoski, Adi Imeri, Vlatko Stefanovski, Stojan & Ninoslav Dimovi, actress Simona Spirovska, ballet-dancer and choreographer Ivana Kocevska. He is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions among which “Virtuosi” Award for Young Music Artist, St. “Mother Theresa” Award for Humanitarian Activities, Laureate of Foundation “Tomislav Zografski”, Golden Ladybug of Popularity (Maestro of the Year), rank in the 10 Best European Pianists according to 3eme Concours européen de piano – Normandie and other. Apart from his concert career, Imeri signs on multiple discographic releases for prestgious labels including „Dino Imeri LIVE“ (2010, Piano Plage France), “Reflections” (2020, PMG Jazz), “Passions” (Con:tempo, 2021). Imeri shows affinity for composition, writing original music for film, theater (independent group “Artopia”), ballet (“Dialogues” by Ivana Kocevska), instrumental and vocal music, multimedia projects (“Prosta i stroga makedonska pesna – 100 years of Blazhe Koneski’s birth anniversary”). He has gained his formal education at DMBUC “Ilija Nikolovski-Luj” (class of prof. Ljudmila Romanova), Faculty of Music-Skopje (graduating in the class of prof. Boris Romanov, with Cum Laude honors; earning his Master degree in the class of prof. Simon Trpceski with Cum Laude honors and a perfect average of 10,00). In 2018, Dino Imeri became a Docent at his alma mater – Faculty of Music in Skopje at the University of ss. “Cyril and Methodius”, teaching and sharing his love for music.
