ZDRAVKO ANGELOV

FIRST CLARINET

Zdravko began his music education when he was seven years old. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in 2000, in the class of Prof. Ivan Kocharov, and earned his Master’s degree in 2012 in the class of Prof. Stojan Dimov.

He has been the first clarinet of the Macedonian Philharmonic for more than 15 years. Before this engagement he taught the clarinet at the SMBC Ilija Nikolovski Luj in Skopje and was a part-time member of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet for two years.

During his music career, he has been awarded numerous prizes in Macedonia and abroad, receiving the special Yamaha award in 2000. He has performed as a soloist with symphonic orchestras in the country and abroad, and is a permanent member of the chamber ensemble Consonans.

Zdravko has performed at important festivals in Macedonia – Skopje Summer Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, Interfest Bitola, Shtip Summer Festival, Days of Macedonian Music, Nomus and Bemus in Serbia. As a member and soloist of the Macedonian Philharmonic he has performed in Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain, Oman, USA, etc. His exceptional musicality and dedication are recognised by many eminent musicians, witnessing about the wonderful atmosphere created by his music making. He has performed under the baton of Borjan Canev, Sasha Nikolovski-Gjumar, Gustav Kuhn, Daniel Raiskin, Urosh Lajovic, Yeruham Sharovsky, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Janusz Przybylski, Anton Nanut, Paul Meyer, Emil Tabakov and many others.
