VESNA SHUPLEVSKA-JOVCHEVA

VIOLIN

Vesna was born into one of the oldest musical families in Macedonia – Shuplevski. She completed her primary and secondary education at the SCMB Ilija Nikolovski – Luj and later graduated at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. She continued to work on her professional development with the violinist Leonid Peisakhov. In 1998 she completed her Master’s and specialisation studies at the State Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the class of Prof. Dora Ivanova-Karakonova. Even as a student she performed as a soloist in her country and abroad, performing numerous times with the orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic. Vesna is the recipient of many first, second and third prizes at competitions in ex-Yugoslavia. At the international competition The Earth and the People in Sofia in 1995, Vesna Shuplevska and Katerina Kostadinovska, performed as a duo and received the special prize, including the prize for best performance of a Schubert Sonata. As a duo they have also performed at the Ohrid Summer Festival and the Skopje Summer Festival. Vesna has participated in seminars lead by acclaimed professors: Evgenia Chugaeva, Marine Yashvili, Mincho Minchev, etc. She is a member of the Macedonian Philharmonic, as well as the Chamber Orchestra of the Philharmonic, since 1995. She is a permanent collaborator of the film music orchestra F.A.M.E.’s.

As a nature lover, she spends her free time taking trips to beautiful destinations in Macedonia with her family.
