DRAGAN GONEVSKI

CELLO

Dragan was born in Skopje, where he also completed his music education at the SCMB Ilija Nikolovski Luj and the Faculty of Music. He completed his formal education earning his Master’s degree in interpretation at the Goce Delchev University in Shtip. He has also attended seminars and masterclasses led by professors from Germany and Russia (Hartmut Brauer – cellist of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig, Josef Schwab – cellist of the Komische Oper Berlin, Uwe Kroggel – cellist of Staatskapelle Dresden and Kirill Rodin – Professor at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow).

Dragan was a member of the orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet from 1997 – 2006, where he was leader of the cellos from 2001 – 2006. He also taught the cello at the SCMB Ilija Nikolovski Luj from 2010 – 2019. His students have continued their education at renowned schools in London, Dresden, Bologna and Prague. He is a member of the Balkan Chamber Orchestra, which is under the direction of Toshio Yanigasawa. Dragan has realised five Japanese tours with the orchestra and has also performed in Geneva (United Nations and Victoria Hall), Vienna (Konzerthaus), Belgrade, Sarajevo and Tirana. He has also recorded two CDs with this orchestra, which were produced in Japan and Germany.
