Salome Jicia

Salome was born in Zugdidi, Georgia in 1986. After a degree in piano, she began vocal studies in Georgia and then at Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome (with Renata Scotto) and at the Rossini Opera Academy (with Maestro Alberto Zedda). She won a lot of prizes and awards such as the Grand Prix in the International Music Festival, Turkey, Prix in the International Singing Competition, Armenia and 1st prize in Lado Ataneli International Singing competition in 2012; the 1st prize and Maria Fołtyn Prize for the best performance of a work by Stanisław Moniuszko for 9th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Poland in 2016. She sang a lot of concerts in Poland, Georgia and Berlin, she was Aspasia (Mitridate, re di Ponto by Mozart) at Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Georgia and also for the Armel Music Festival in Budapest; Rosina (La finta semplice by Mozart) in an AsLico production in Como-Cremona-Pavia (Italy), Contessa di Foleville (Il viaggio a Reims by Rossini) in Pesaro, Italy. She also sang in Semiramide at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall for the X International Music Festivalin Moscow, Russia; the International Opera Festival of Alejandro Granda, Lima, Peru; a Concert with José Carreras in Qutaisi, Georgia as well as La Donna del Lago in Pesaro, Italy. She recently sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Liege. Among the engagements in this season: Semiramide in Nancy, Torvaldo e Dorliska and Semiramide at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Italy), La Traviata at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Seattle Opera, La clemenza di Tito in Lousanne, La Donna del Lago in Liege. As well as also Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte at Bolshoi theatre in Moscow, La Traviata in Macerata and Don Giovanni at Teatro Comunale in Bologna.
