Michal Nesterowicz

Since winning the Cadaqués Orchestra European Conducting Competition in 2008, Michał Nesterowicz has gone on to conduct many of the major orchestras and leading ensembles in Europe. The 2014/15 season sees him make debuts with the Münchner Philharmoniker, WDR Sinfonieorchester, NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice. He also returns to the Orquestra Sinfónica de Barcelona, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Last season he made successful debuts at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Orchestra della Svizzera Italia and National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. Other recent engagements included returns to the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Michał Nesterowicz studied at the Wrocław Academy of Music and graduated from the class of Marek Pijarowski in 1997. He was among the winners of the 6th Grzegorz Fitelborg International Conducting Competition in Katowice and has since conducted the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra Katowice and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.
