PLAMENKA TRAJKOVSKA

VIOLIN

Plamenka graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Mihajlo Kufojanakis. She earned her Master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, earning the title of Master of Economic Sciences. During her studies she has performed at many competitions and attended masterclasses with Evgenia Chugaeva, Dejan Mihajlovic, David Kamhi and Kunakov. She has also performed as part of the Chamber Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia, Yugoslav Youth Philharmonic and the Vojvodina Youth Philharmonic.

Plamenka is a permanent member of the Macedonian Philharmonic since 1994. She has also performed as a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic, of the Review Orchestra of the Macedonian Radio and Television and Skopje Soloists.

She created the musical core titled Plamenka Trajkovska – small chamber ensembles, bringing together a string quartet and a trio, a string sextet, duo violin and piano, tango ensemble, Keltikum Ensemble and the orchestra Ode to Joy. The small ensembles create music programmes which include classical music and cross-over with multimedia elements, as well as music technology. They perform on traditional concert stages, as well as alternative spaces, aiming to bring classical music closer to wider and young audiences. She is the author of the album Apassionato and the album Carnival of Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns arranged for violin and piano, distributed by iTunes and Amazon. Plamenka is also the author of music for theatre plays and the single Firefly. She has performed numerous concerts throughout Macedonia: Skopje Summer Festival, Bitfest, Shtip Cultural Summer, Petrovden Handshakes, Warm Cultural Wave, Karaman Encounters, Kavadarci Cultural Autumn, Veles Cultural Summer and many others, as well as performances in Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, France and Tanzania. Plamenka is a Knight of Humanity for her work in the society. She is the national coordinator of the international music competition of Lions Club – Thomas Kuti.

Plamenka plays a violin by Joh.Bapt.Switzer made in 1813.
