ILINKA VELKOVA
SECOND FLUTE, PICCOLO
Ilinka graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in 2002, in the class of Prof. Beti Stankovska. She earned her Master’s degree in 2018 in the class of Prof. Strasho Temkov. She attended seminars with the eminent pedagogues Miodrag Azanjac and András Adorján. During her studies, she was awarded numerous awards at national and international flute and chamber music competitions. She made her debut with the Macedonian Philharmonic when she was 16 years old, performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto. She began her professional engagement with the Macedonian Philharmonic in 1999 as a flute and piccolo player. As a member of the orchestra, she has collaborated with many eminent conductors and soloists, such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Doron Salomon, Krzysztof Penderecki, Yeruham Sharovsky, Julian Rachlin, Boris Berezovsky, Vadim Repin, Simon Trpvheski… Besides her orchestral activity, Ilinka also performs as a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles, realising audio and video recordings for the Macedonian Radio and Television.
“In my free time I enjoy nature. I like physical activity outdoors, like running and cycling. I like to read a good book and watch a good film. My great passion is traveling. I like to travel and encounter various cultures.”
