BOJAN TALESKI
VIOLA
Bojan was born in 1985 in Skopje. He started playing the violin when he was eight and continued to study viola at fifteen in the class of Prof. Jovan Bicevski. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Frosina Balova. During his studies, he has collaborated with musicians and professors who had great influence on him: Riccardo Muti, Dejan Mladenovic, Ana Glishic, Igor Coretti, Erik Bok, Georg Hamann, David Björkman, Simon Trpcheski, Boris Berezovsky, Peter Sheppard. He has also performed at numerous festivals: International Youth Music Festival Postojna, Virserum Musikdagar, Young Euro Classics - Berlin, Chaise-Dieu , Spilberk Music Festival, Frankische Musiktage, and has also been a member and leader of violas in multiple orchestras and ensembles abroad: Vienner Jeunesses Symphony Orchestra(VJSO), Young Musicians International Symphony Orchestra(YMISO),Young European Strings Orchestra(YESO), Maribor international orchestra(MIO), International youth orchestra academy Bern, Con tempora, Aksiosquartet, Philharmonic Quartet.
Bojan is the recipient of many awards at national and international competitions in Macedonia and Bulgaria. He has also performed as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet and the Chamber Orchestra of the Faculty of Music. In the period 2007-2015 he was a member of the symphonic orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, and between 2010-2014 he taught viola at the SMBC Ilija Nikolovski Luj. Since 2015, Taleski is a permanent member of the symphonic orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic, as well as soloist of the film music orchestra F.A.M.E.’s Project.
“I am addicted to the music of Gustav Mahler, modern technology, science-fiction films and barbecuing in nature with good company. My free time is reserved for my family and close friends. Free weekends are almost non-existent thanks to the viola… but, the love for the instrument and the love for music making prevail.”
