Mirian Khukhunaishvili
Short Biography of Mirian Khukhunaishvili Mirian Khukhunaishvili is a co-founder and artistic director of the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra. Mirian has led orchestras such as: the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the North Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, and all major Georgian orchestras and choirs. He has worked with world-renowned musicians, including Eliso Virsaladze, Paata Burchuladze, George Gagnidze, Valeriy Sokolov, Alexander Buzlov. Mirian's Viennese debut in the Musikverein with the resident chamber orchestra was rescheduled due to Coronavirus to the season 2023/24. Mirian will return to the Berlin Konzerthaus with the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra at the “Young Euro Classics” in August 2023. Since 2021 Mirian has served as an invited faculty member at the Iceland University of the Arts, where he teaches conducting classes and leads the university choir. In 2020 he earned his doctoral degree in conducting at the Academy of Music in Krakow.
