Massimiliano Caldi
Massimiliano Caldi (Milano 1967), with a big international experience in the fields of symphonic music, opera, operetta and ballet, an attention on contemporary music and on the revival of the 19th century opera, stands out for his high professional preparation and for his bright and linear directorial style. Winner of the first prize at “G.Fitelberg” International Competition (1999), Caldi is Principal Conductor of the "A.Malawski" Podkarpacka Philharmonic of Rzeszów and First Guest Conductor of the Polish Baltic "F.Chopin" Philharmonic of Gdańsk (Danzig). He had been Principal Conductor and Artistic Consultant of "St. Moniuszko" Koszalin Philharmonic (2014-2017), Artistic Director of Silesian Chamber Orchestra (Katowice, 2006-2010) and Principal Conductor of "Milano Classica" Chamber Orchestra (1998-2009). In the last ten years he took tournées in Israel, Oman, U.S.A., Chile, Brasil, Germany, Russia and Turkey. Recently, in opera field, he conducted Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia (January-February 2017) and Verdi's Nabucco (May 2017) at Teatr Wielki of Poznan, a selection of Puccini's La Rondine at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw for the XXI edition of the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival (April 2017), Notte per me luminosa by Marco Betta at Teatro Municipale of Piacenza (April 2017) and the prologue from Mefistofele by Boito (June 2017) with "A.Rubinstein" Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra in Łódź. Among his upcoming appointments he will come back at Teatr Wielki of Poznan with the direction of Rapsodia Satanica by Mascagni (October 2017), for the Week of the Italian Language in the World and he will make his debut in the Gold Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna (November 2017) with the "A.Malawski" Philharmonic Orchestra of Rzeszów. In Poland he had been invited by International Festivals as "Jerzy Waldorff" of Radzjeowice, "L. van Beethoven" Easter Festival and Paderewski Festival in Warsaw, "Mozartiana" in Oliwa and Łancut Music Festival at the head of orchestras like, for example, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Iuventus, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Nospr and the Philharmonics of Cracow, Stettin, Lodz, Bialystok, Poznan...and others. In symphonic field he debuted in Berlin with the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester Berlin (November 2016), at the Moscow Conservatory’s Rachmaninov Hall with Sinfonietta Cracovia (November 2016) and with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra (February 2017). He took part at Łancut International Festival for conducting Beethoven's Symphony n.9 (May 2017), he conducted Carmina Burana by Orff (June 2017) at the Philharmonic in Gdansk. Among his upcoming italian appointments, he will come back on the podium of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi (December 2017) and the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra (February 2018), in St. Petersburg with the Philharmonic Orchestra (April 2018) and on the podium of the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali (end of April/beginning of May 2018).
