Anastasia Grgovksa
Anastasija Grgovska, born in Kumanovo, is a distinguished Macedonian pianist whose artistic journey has been marked by both remarkable achievements and an unyielding passion for music. Her musical education began in her hometown, where she studied under the guidance of her father, prof. Dragan Grgovski, later continuing her studies with Prof. Slavica Micovska. Her formative years in music culminated in her secondary education at the Music High School "Ilija Nikolovski – Luj" in Skopje, after which she pursued higher education at the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje. In 2013, she graduated cum laude, under the mentorship of Prof. Marija Gjosevska, solidifying her place as a gifted and promising artist. Throughout her career, Anastasija has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades at both national and international competitions, affirming her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Her performances, which have taken her across Macedonia and beyond, reflect her versatility and artistic depth. She has captivated audiences with her solo concerts in cities across the country while also enchanting listeners in collaborative performances with chamber ensembles. Her artistry has been showcased at some of the most esteemed music festivals, including “Ohrid Summer”, “Skopje Summer”, “Days of Macedonian Music” and “Autumn Music Celebrations”. In 2009, she had the honor of performing as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the city of Pernik in Bulgaria, and later, in 2013 and 2017, she performed as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic in Skopje. In recognition of her artistic excellence, she was named a laureate of the "Tomislav Zografski" Foundation in 2014 and was awarded the Grand Prix for 2021 by the Foundation's Board, a testament to her growing stature in the classical music world. Anastasija is also an active and passionate educator, dedicating herself to the development of the next generation of musicians. Her pedagogical work and collaborative piano engagements reflect her deep commitment to sharing her knowledge and fostering musical expression. As a member of the chamber duo "Distanca," alongside Italian pianist Brigida Migliore, she continues to explore new creative horizons in her chamber music endeavors. Her artistic journey is ever-evolving, and in August 2024, she performed as a piano duo with pianist Shkelzen Baftiari at the “Ohrid Summer” festival, celebrating the anniversaries of two celebrated Macedonian composers, T. Zografski and S. Toshevski. This performance is another milestone in her career, reflecting her ongoing devotion to honoring her cultural heritage while pushing the boundaries of her musical expression. Anastasija enriched her artistry through masterclasses and seminars with some of the world’s most esteemed musicians, such as H. Holtmann (Germany), J. Kot (Ukraine), N. Trul (Russia), A. Diev (Russia), Z. Zaharieva (Bulgaria), A. Gindin (Russia), F. Turisini (Italy), G. Gruzman (Germany), and Lj. Gashparovic (Croatia). Her academic achievements reached new heights when she completed her Master’s degree with the highest honors at the renowned Russian Music Academy “Gnesin” in Moscow, under the guidance of Prof. Yulia V. Fyodorova. During her studies, she performed in numerous class concerts and chamber ensembles, further honing her skills and expanding her repertoire. With each performance, Anastasija Grgovska continues to shape her identity as an artist, blending passion, precision, and expressive power into a sound that resonates deeply with audiences and fellow musicians alike.
